Catching Up

It has been a while since I've posted, so I thought I'd catch up on the goings-on in the Stewart household. On Labor Day weekend, we had Allan's parents over for dinner. After dinner we played Scrabble. I usually concede at the beginning of any word games that Allan or his mother will far surpass my word total (they are both brilliant with words). But this game was different. I looked at the words on the board, looked at my letters, and realized I could make an 8-letter word, using ALL of my tiles. I scored 83 points. Wahoo! Allan still won the game (grrrr), but it was still fun to use all my tiles and get the Scrabble bonus. This is me with my 8-letter word "marinate."

Also on Labor Day weekend, we (when I say we, I mostly mean Allan, but I did help) took these materials:

And made this storage:

Other than those exciting events, it's pretty much been the same old stuff around here. Work is keeping us both busy. I had parent-teacher conferences last Wednesday which signaled mid-term. I can't believe we're already there! This year has flown by. I still feel overwhelmed with all the work to do, but I think it's going okay. I had to take a couple of days off for a meeting and for being sick, and when I returned the students exclaimed, "We're so glad you're back!" That made me happy. At least they value the experience they get when I'm there versus the sub experience.

This Friday we took some time to enjoy the fall colors. We drove Alpine loop. We got a late start, so most of what we drove was in the dark, but what we did see was beautiful.

That's pretty much it. I'm grateful for Allan and his patience with me during my hectic school schedule, I'm grateful we both have good jobs in fields we love, and I'm grateful for this time of year--fall beauty, general conference, and holidays.

If you haven't seen the Mormon Message's video about hope, you need to. Click HERE. It's Pres. Uchtdorf, and it's amazing. While you're on YouTube, listen to my new favorite arrangement of "I Know that My Redeemer Lives."

That's all for now! I hope you're each doing well!

Awesome scabble move! I've done that only once in all my years of playing the game, and it feels amazing. :-)

Nicely done!

Your closet is pretty. :)

So I found some super cute card ideas...wanna party!? (I was thinking I could start on Christmas cards so that they can be done and ready early this year!)
