Awakening

If I could make these moments endless
If I could stop the winds of change
If we just keep our eyes wide open
Then everything would stay the same

And I know that only time will tell me how
We'll carry on without each other

So keep me awake for every moment
Give us more time to be this way
We can't stay like this forever
But I can have you next to me today

And I will remember
Oh I will remember
Remember all the love we shared today

Eeeek!!! =)

Guess what Santa left me this year?

A Kitchenaid Professional HD Series mixer!!!

I almost cried when I saw it. It is beautiful, silver, and can mix up to 11 cups of flour. Isn't that exciting! Wahoo!

I need to VENT!!!!

My roommate is driving me crazy. EVERY SINGLE THING SHE DOES IS DRIVING ME INSANE!!! I spent an hour and a half cleaning the apartment yesterday (a task she says she's too 'busy' to participate in), and I come home tonight with spaghetti sauce all over my clean floor. And to top it all off, the little miser says we should keep the apartment at 59 degrees. 59 freaking degrees?!?!?!? You have GOT to be kidding me.

I think I'm done with the roommate thing. I'm too strong-headed and too old to live with a girl with whom I do not get along with.

Seven more months. Seven more months.

On a Happier Note . . .

Mrs. Allsop-Day came and observed me last week. (I guess I can call her Sharon now!) She watched me teach zoo-bot. We were doing a crayfish dissection, and it was super exciting.

After I was done, we talked about my lesson, teaching, etc. She was very complimentary. It made me feel really good. Two of the things she said made me feel extra good: "You're a very good teacher--I can't say anything bad!" and "Max Reese would be proud."

It made me feel happy.

Dark

Today I arrived at school. It was dark.

Today I left school. It was dark.

I did not see the sun today. I was in my room.

Sad day!

A Proposal

Today I received my first marriage proposal. From a student.

It was in my lab class, which is full of boys. We were sitting there working, but we were chit-chatting as we went. We got on the topic of colleges, and I remarked to the students that I wanted to go to Purdue for my grad work.

"You should go to Purdue before you get married, Miss Ferguson," Jim said.

"I'll never get married," I sighed, "so I have all the time in the world to make it to Purdue."

"I'll marry you when I get back from my mission if you aren't married yet," Sam said.

We all had a good laugh. "How many years will that be?" I questioned with sarcasm.

He took a second to calculate. "Four years."

"Look me up when you get back."
