I do not have internet at my apartment yet, so, alas, I have been unable to post for a bit. The only opportunities for internet access have been at work or at home, and as I've been up at the U for two weeks, my access has been fairly limited. But, my class is done, I am back to work, and hence the post.
The class I took at the U was amazing to say the least. I got some fantastic ideas for teaching, I listened to some amazing professors, and I got to feel my brain really working again. It's not that my brain doesn't work when I'm teaching, but it's a different kind of work. Hearing words like allelic frequencies, selective serotonin uptake neurons, and somatic cell nuclear transfer stimulate a part of my brain that's been on hiatus ever since graduation. Simple monohybrid Punnett squares just don't do it for me anymore. =) Because of my recent cerebral stimulation, I've seriously been looking at going to Purdue in September to a graduate school expo. I'd get the opportunity to see Purdue, to talk with some other schools, and to maybe get a little bit of a feeling of what grad school would hold for me. (Like a $30,000/year stipend for teaching an ungrad class. Can anyone say, You'll pay me to go to grad school?!?!)
I've been getting quite a bit of sun this summer with all of my various outdoor activities, and I think I'm darker than I've ever been. Oh, I'm still pasty and white, but my freckle ratio has dramatically increased which makes me look darker.
Speaking of outdoor activities, the school garden has been overcome with weeds. So if any of you feel the need to get your hands dirty and to help me out, I would greatly appreciate any weeding help you could offer. I might even splurge on a pizza for dinner if you came.
School starts in less than one month, and I am much calmer than I was last year. I'm slowly getting used to the fact that I'll be teaching actual students again in one month. I'll be spending three out of five work days at the school getting my room ready, planning lessons, tidying up the lab space, and other such tasks that right now seem to be too long to list. Ug.
I think that's all for now. Alas, my life is not too exciting. I'm not on any fun vacations, I'm definitely not in Europe, I haven't a boy in this world or the next interested in me, and I've not been complemented on my appearance in such a long time. Oh, well. I really am blessed in a plethora of ways. =)

Are you going to the class reunion? I'd like to say I am, but I'm not. I'm going to be in sunny San Diego (at least it better be sunny!!!!).
Well, I'm glad life is keepin' on! Sweet class and stretching the brain! Purdue would be awesome!
I'll help weed and clean and cut out letters! Seriously just let me know some good times for you. My schedule is pretty stable right now, off by 3:00 p.m., except on Monday and Thursdays (chiropractic appointment, done by 4:00 p.m.).
And I'm TOTALLY serious about the card making party! If Jo can't come, sad day, but let's do it anyway!!!
YOU ARE AMAZING!!! Loves! :)
Heck, no, I'm not going to the class reunion. Maybe the 10th, but not this one. I see and talk to everyone I want to see and talk to anyway.
Your life sounds like mine, except you aren't doing enought studying to count as me.
Trent said he was going...I wasn't sure if that was legal since technically he didn't graduate. I agree though, I didn't want to go to this one. I'm all over the 10th one though.
How are you, friend?
Do you have plans this Saturday? You could help us move, if you wanted to! :) No worries if you can't though...realistically, E and I can do it all ourselves...mostly.
Sorry I didn't come weed with you guys today. I was sleeping and then had to go to the quarterly cousins scrapbooking exchange..I got some cute pages through.
How nice too that it rained on your garden right after your weeded. That worked out nicely.
Do you have a bunch of random bug bites on your body, Hay? I look like some battle survivor... :) But dang, that garden box looks good!!!
I got some SWEET produce, Jo! You truly missed out!
Scrapbooking? Jo!? Are you going to share with us when we have our card making party? That's going to be awesome!
How was tennis, Hay?
