So, I am sitting here at work. Dr. Gardner is still out to lunch (where is he? It's like 1:30), I finished the work I had to do in like 15 minutes, and I've balanced my checkbook already. So, I decided to blog after being mildly inspired by Alisyn's random ramblings.
I went to the new ward on Sunday. It was an interesting experience. I felt overwhelmed at the amount of people I need to get to know, but at the same time I felt very complacent. My ward is combined with another ward for the summer, so in five weeks I won't need to know half of the people. Awful attitude, right? Well, that's how it goes. Especially when I'm going to need to know 200 students in eight weeks . . . and, strangely, that takes precedence. Perhaps that's what's wrong with me! Anyway, the ward had a "welcome" party that night to welcome all the new people to the ward. I went to it, and after introducing everyone to everybody, all of the people who knew each other started talking to each other. That left me and the other new person to talk to each other because, well, no one else would talk to us. This welcoming committee needs to branch out a little bit and start welcoming those who, um, need to be welcomed.
In other news, the new place is finally put together (for the most part). I'll be having a housewarming party sometime soon, most likely after my class at the U is done. I feel like I'm getting a steal of a deal there, and I'm quite content.
Tennis is coming along swimmingly. I actually quite enjoy it. I bought a tennis skirt and shirt up in Park City the other Saturday, and now I am quite the tennis star.
I went to dinner with Selytina last night, and I realized how much I miss her! I was sitting at my desk yesterday thinking, "Gosh, I need someone to talk to!" and her name popped into my head. So I sent her a text, she replied, and three hours later we ended up at Macaroni Grill together. It was fun to chat with her and to have the kinds of conversation you have when you are with Selytina. She's so funny.

You should take a pic of you in your tennis outfit! I can envision it quite vividly...just like to know how accurate I am. :)
