Today I received my first marriage proposal. From a student.
It was in my lab class, which is full of boys. We were sitting there working, but we were chit-chatting as we went. We got on the topic of colleges, and I remarked to the students that I wanted to go to Purdue for my grad work.
"You should go to Purdue before you get married, Miss Ferguson," Jim said.
"I'll never get married," I sighed, "so I have all the time in the world to make it to Purdue."
"I'll marry you when I get back from my mission if you aren't married yet," Sam said.
We all had a good laugh. "How many years will that be?" I questioned with sarcasm.
He took a second to calculate. "Four years."
"Look me up when you get back."

Congratulations!!!! I'm so excited for you. :) That's awesome. Four years is perfect (if you go to Purdue next year....)
That's MUCH better than a proposal from a dirty homeless man! Did you know that Purdue has a veterinary school? We could go together!
Oooo la la
Let's go to Purdue together, Shannon! At least I would know SOMEONE there. We could even room together! Wahoo!!!
When are you going?
Well... I will apply for vet school this spring to attend starting fall 2008. Yippee! Don't get your hopes up though, I don't think Purdue will take me.
Is he cute?
That's interesting...
Ew!!! I don't know if he's cute! He's my student!!! Gross.
