The beginning of March was a grand time, as Allan had some time off of work. Pearson has a paternity leave policy, but we weren't able to use it when Charlie was born because Allan hadn't worked at the company long enough. They told him that once he had worked there a year, he could take his leave. So take his leave he did! Allan spent the last week of February and first week of March at home. I loved having him home and Charlie did, too! My boys bonded, I got some things done I've been meaning to do for a while . . . it was a "win-win-win" all around. =)
Allan celebrated his 30th birthday. We celebrated with Legos and Texas Roadhouse. That "old man" of mine means everything to me. I'm so grateful for his love, humor, patience, and hard work. I'm especially grateful for his desire and ability to provide for me and little Charlie--it means the world to me that I can stay home and not have any worries. He has made all of my dreams come true. I hope he had a lovely birthday. (I think he did.)
For me, March was science fair month. District science fair was at the beginning of the month and regional was at the end. AFHS didn't do as well as we usually do, but I expected that. I hope the students that participated had a worthwhile experience. I am definitely loosing my zeal for being at the high school. I'm ready to be done and to pass off my duties to someone else. I've got someone more important and enjoyable to spend my time with.
Speaking of Charlie, he is now SIX months old! What a little man I have! At his check-up he was 17 pounds, 9.5 ounces and 27 3/4 inches long.
- He is quite proficient at rolling from his back to his tummy. Tummy to back is a different story. This mommy spends lots of time turning him back over so he doesn't cry too much. But then what does he do? Flips right back over. He is SO my child. ;)
- He is kind of sitting up on his own. He can do it for short periods of time on his own; he can maintain it longer when he has a toy to lean up against.
- He started rice cereal and is a super-eater. I thought the first time would be so messy and frustrating for him, but he ate like a champ! He opened his mouth for the spoon and swallowed most of it. He likes rice cereal with breastmilk and apple juice.

- He gets more and more inquisitive every day. He will look at things, study them, and put them in his mouth if he can.
- He loves toys that spin. He can spend minutes (a long time in baby world) spinning his little alligator on the bouncer.

- He loves to bounce! Grandma Stewart got him a bouncer, and he hasn't held still since. =) His little legs are getting quite strong.

Cute pics! And it sounds wonderful having your husband home.
Cute pictures. Sounds like you had a great month.
LOVED those pictures!!!! And happy b-day to Allan. How did I not know when his birthday is? Although I don't know when Erics or Nicks is either, so there you have it. I'm a bad friend. When are we doing a play date? Other than babysitting??? =)
So cute Haylee!! And thanks for the link to your blog :) I too have been debating whether to go private or not... I'm still waffling!
