25 Random Things

It's UBSCT testing today, which means I have 11 students in my room taking the writing portion of the Basic Skills Competency Test. All of the juniors and seniors come at 10. I have some time to write my things before I start grading and writing plans. And I tag Jo, because she hasn't done it yet, and I think some of her answers would be hilarious.

1. I get misty-eyed at the end of Monsters, Inc. every time.

2. I don't think I've ever told anyone this, but I have an abnormal aversion to tags (like washing instructions for clothes and blankets). I don't like touching them, and when they're on a blanket, I position the blanket so it's as far away from me as possible. I know it's weird.

3. I still have clothes from my high school days and wear them.

4. I've surprised even myself by being able to stick to the monthly budget Allan and I set up. It's even exciting to see when I've been under budget in certain categories for the month. (And it's easy to keep track of our budget because of a program Allan made.)

5. I have a fear that I won't know how to raise boys because I never grew up around any.

6. I am currently sleeping with a sheet, a comforter, and two quilts on my side of the bed.

7. I'm excited about the changes we're planning on making to the house this spring/summer. I'm anticipating making planter beds in our "backyard" area and planting a garden this spring, and I'm excited about new paint, floors, and couches this summer!

8. Being in the Temple with my husband is one of the most joyous experiences of my life. It's a small glimpse of what forever will be like!

9. I realize my mother was (and still is) almost always right.

10. I'm proud to have a job teaching. I'm good at what I do, I like what I do, and that brings me immense satisfaction. (It also helps when A-D tells me that I am a great teacher! ;))

11. Allan is perfect for me in every way--intellectually, emotionally, spiritually, etc.--and I'm the luckiest girl in the world.

12. When I start craving a diet Pepsi vanilla, I know it's been a hard day.

13. If it has three body segments and six legs, I adore it. If it has two body segments and eight legs, I absolutely fear it.

14. I love bacon!

15. The Fergusons are much like the Buttertons. What can I say? We LOVE butter!

16. I feel like I used my educational opportunities to the best of my ability and am happy with my education. However, I still get inklings of going to grad school every now and then.

17. I tried water aerobics for a couple of weeks and gave up because I did not like the instructor AND because one of my current students was a lifeguard during that time which was just too weird.

18. I'm scared of going to the dentist.

19. I'm glad my parents instilled within me a good work ethic. I don't see this enough in some of my students and fear what their lives will be like in the future.

20. I know that the only way to true joy and happiness comes through keeping the commandments and turning over my life to the Father.

21. I would like to visit France one day and walk through the lavender fields in Provence.

22. I love using a brand new tube of mascara.

23. I'd love to have children who went around identifying insects and plants. Instead of, "Look at that bug, Mommy!" I'd hear, "Look at that beautiful lepidopteran, Mommy!"

24. I'm still trying to learn patience. It will be my life-long lesson I suppose!

25. Spring gives me hope. The sun gives me hope. The Son gives me the greatest hope.

I was thinking the same thing. I can just see the little geniuses now.
