Today was the third annual Spider Olympics held in the commons area. (Can you even believe I've been at this whole teaching-thing three years? Crazy!) First period was kind of "blah" because they are still sleepy, but second period was fun. Our last event was a spider crawl relay race, and things got so heated (translation=loud cheering) I had the attendance secretary come out, the book depository girl come out, a vice-principal, and finally the principal herself. She reminded me there were classes on both sides of the commons. I said sorry, got really red-faced, and sent the students back to class (we were done anyway). I composed the students (and myself), wrote some notes on the board, and then did the (in)famous spider mating dance.
Today was a fun day.

Awesome!!!
People are SO stingy about having fun! Sheesh! They should be happy that the students are enjoying LEARNING!!! ;)
You know, I have yet to actually see the spider mating dance. Perhaps you could do it for us at the New Year's Eve Party...we're having a ROCKBAND theme, so it would TOTALLY go!!! :)
You should post pics of your tree and home decor. I'm sitting on pins and needles... :)
You, my dear Lee, are a natural born teacher who is massively creative and has a wonderful flare for fun which in my mind = awesomeness!
It looked like your class was having an rockin' good time during 4th period as well. I'm still trying to figure out if not knowing you're in a science class, when you are, is a good or bad thing! How could Zoo/Bot not be a science class? ;)
ABBY, ARE YOU SERIOUSLY PREGO!? CONGRAT-FREAKIN'-U-LATIONS!!! Oh my goodness! Happy day!!! :)
And since when have you been a blogger!? Girl, we gots to stay connected!!!
I say, dance away!!!
