Happy New Year!

What is it about the new year that prompts us to reflect about the past, to look forward to the future, and to make goals and resolutions to do or be better? I suppose it is a marking point, one where it is easy to delineate a beginning and an end.

Every new year I feel like Jacob: " . . . the time passed away with us, and also our lives passed away like as it were unto us a dream" (Jacob 7:26). Sometimes time moves so quickly that it hardly feels like it can be a new year.

Here's to a new year, full of self-improvement, new possibilities, and realized dreams. Cheers!
