My Sweet Husband and Other Tales

After being inspired by Al's delicious-smelling candle on Friday night, I decided it was time to buy a fall-scented candle for my home. I bought a pumpkin one that I really liked and that somewhat resembled a candle I burned last fall. I was burning the candle on Sunday night, and I remarked to Allan, "Doesn't this candle smell fantastic?!"

"Yes," he replied. "It smells like fall. It smells like when we were dating. It smells like coming over to your apartment and being with you. It smells like falling in love with you."

Isn't my husband the sweetest? I thought it was too cute of a moment not to share, so thanks for indulging my silliness for a moment.

In other news, death is all around us. Has anybody else seen the inordinate amount of dead raccoons on the sides of the roads lately? I swear, I've seen like seven in the past four days. And I saw two dead grasshoppers on the Provo river trail on Saturday whose insides were being eaten by hornets. I hope it's a sign that fall is coming, not that someone is going to die. (Don't any of you THINK about dying on me!!!)

I caught a mayfly at my parent's house on Sunday. I was pretty excited. Allan indulged me for a minute, but nobody else seemed to care.

I give my first big test tomorrow. Wahoo!

I'm going collecting up the canyon on Thursday with my zo/bot classes. It should be exciting!

That is all.

Hmmmm, fall candles! Yumm-o!

Allan rocks! I'm glad you're together.

A MAYFLY!? Those are the ones with the long tail thingys, right? Big wings, two tail things from their butt, etc.? Those flies are cool!

There is a fly in my house that you are welcome to have. :) It's annoying me. (It's just a boring common house fly, though.) Hey! We had a preying mantis on the side of our house yesterday...it looked like a female...are they laying eggs this time of year? She looked like she was working on something... If I see her again, do you want me to freeze her?

Are they endangered? Anna said someone told her they were...

How was the test giving? Much moaning and groaning? ;)

Happy leaf collecting! I LOVED those days of yore.

She was probably laying eggs. Leave her in your garden. They'll be great to have around next year!
